LOCATION
First impression – The hotel
We arrived at the hotel near noon. Mairi was there to welcome us and answer all of our questions. The first thing we noticed was the architecture of the hotel, which is in absolute peace with the wild environment and tradition of Mani Peninsula. As you can tell from the name Stone (Petra) and Light (Fos) are the dominant characteristics. Stone symbolizes power and eternity, while the light from the sun symbolizes harmony and life. On these elements is built the whole philosophy of Petra & Fos Boutique Hotel & Spa. Peace with nature, originality and harmony.
The pool
One of the most impressing spots of the hotel is the infinity pool.
The endless view of Oitilo Bay captures your look, which stays glued to the blue sea and sky.
The pool is ideal for cool dives during summer and for endless dreaming the rest of the months. Extra point: The pool is light up at night, which creates an impressive image.
The room
Modest luxury, sense of relaxation and absolute comfort. This would be a simple description of the rooms at Petra & Fos Boutique Hotel & Spa. However, you know how much we like to analyze things, so we cannot leave some things unsaid. First of all, the bed, which was perfect size and had a great mattress. Secondly, the room decoration, like the light from vine which was inspired from the nature of Mani.
Last but not least the perfect balcony…ideal for romantic sunsets over the Oitilo bay.
The hotel offers 23 rooms and suites all with the same philosophy.
The restaurant “Anerousa”
Behind the pool space is located the restaurant of the hotel, which also offers an impressive sea view. The small but inclusive menu is taken care from the well know chef, Christoforos Peskias and promises a culinary trip to the tastes of Mani. Dishes like spaggeti with pesto from local olives and traditional cheese pies with orange marmalade are some examples. Not forget to mention that at the same space is served the breakfast.
The “Ioni” Spa
What better way to complete your great relaxation experience at Petra & Fos Boutique Hotel & Spa than taking advantage of the “Ioni” spa. The space is clean, finest and with specialized personnel ready to make you feel more than welcome. Besides the sauna and the Jacuzzi the spa offers specialized treatments for the face and the body. We had a back massage with Maria, which was absolutely great. At the “Ioni” spa you are offered towels, slippers and skincare toiletries.
Location
The hotel is located at the village Oitilo, which is near the historic Areopolis, the picturesque Limeni village, the Cave of Diros and many more interesting spots. Believe us, you will fall in love with the beauty of Mani Peninsula. There are also great beaches nearby, like the one at Karavostasi and Gerolimena. If you enjoy hiking and trekking, Mani offers many trails. If you love nature don’t skip the forest of Vasiliki, which will amaze you.
